Having left School at 16 & following good exam results in Art, I decided to go into Painting & Decorating, after trying to get my head around being A Car Mechanic & Plumber , it was obvious this was not going to be my route in life , at a young age my Mother & Father (Fred & Audrey) where nothing short of brilliant & kept pushing me whatever I did , like all teenagers I could be awkward, but eventually got there.

 

From working with a number of P&D firms I struck out on my own when I was 23 & have been working either on my own or with assistants, since then, working for Industrial Companies in Sheffield, also Private clients.

 

In 1993 I started pricing for The National Trust & did  & still do work for them, then English Heritage followed & a few years later Chatsworth, it became very interesting & have to date worked on 33 different estates & sites,.

 

A few years ago I decided to start & really follow my passion as a hobby really, but it all took hold & PAINTWOOD was born to fit with the restoration of old kitchens, then of course private clients started to phone & it has now become the core of my business, I enjoy it immensely & will certainly continue to move it forward from  what was its embryonic form to a sound decent little business.
